Following an art course in a public school is getting a chance to train for creation while creating.

The école supérieure d’arts et médias de Caen/Cherbourg is a public establishment for cultural cooperation placed under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture and Communication, the Urban Community of Caen, the City of Cherbourg-en-Cotentin and the Normandy Regional Council. It was born in 2011 from the merger of the école supérieure d’arts et médias de Caen and the école supérieure des beaux-arts de Cherbourg.
Both a higher education institute and a cultural venue, ésam Caen/Cherbourg offers on its campuses of Caen and Cherbourg a wide range of courses and activities :
Higher education curricula, with 250 students preparing for Bachelor and Master degrees in Art and Graphic Design/Edition ;
A public preparatory class, with 40 students training for the entrance exams of French art schools ;
A research unit with PhD students from the school’s new program called RADIAN (recherche-art-design-innovation-architecture-normandie) ;
Community classes (workshops and ateliers) with more than 1200 children, teenagers and adults ;
Actions of introduction to visual arts for young kids and specific publics ;
Cultural events open to the public (conferences, shows, performances, concerts).
